One of the most exciting trends of the Fall Winter 2023 menswear season, is the ’90s Grunge.
The vintage influences were seen throughout, from the throwback flannels to the leather pieces, to the canvas high-top sneakers akin to styles seen on pre-grunge influencers the Ramones and countless bands after.
The rebellious look will appeal to the younger market with designers clearly claiming the trend and introducing grunge to the catwalk marked one of the earliest high fashion-streetwear crossovers.
Among the brands on the runways, Givenchy achieved the grunge look with its layering of single garments using couture techniques. Adeam (Japan) had the look on full display oversized shorts in flannel checks, tall combat boots, stringy bleached hair parted down the middle and threadbare distressed knitwear. At Louis Vuitton, grungy denims were treated with the same precision as polished tailoring.
