All crazy for denim once again! With a bold and playful approach dominating the Spring-Summer 2024 runway, denim has taken centre stage. The ongoing influence of the 1990s has brought back wardrobe staples like loose-fitting jeans, straight-leg jeans, baggy shorts, and jackets, but this time with a new twist!
Novelty appliqués, patchworks, allover prints and distressed washes adorn denim-on-denim matching sets, alongside classic washes like indigo blue and light blue, reimagined with contemporary finishes and unexpected details.
Isabel Marant’s SS24 collection introduced modern and sophisticated denim sets featuring slouchy shorts and jackets, adorned with gold thread detailing to mimic the constellations, providing an orphic feel. Distressed denim with oversized jean jackets and paint-splattered jeans, was on the menu at Magliano, exuding a worn theme with authenticity.
Meanwhile, at the Italian label Moschino, casual full-on denim looks exuded a nostalgic flavour with their stone-washed finish and slouchy shapes. Particularly striking was their pairing with the iconic white tank top, highlighting the inspiration from the golden era.
